Teachers recently attended technology training with our ITS, Mrs. Lind. Students are using various devices and teachers need to know effective ways to use the devices with the students to aid in their learning. Lower grade teachers focused on using SeeSaw with their students. It provides features for children to be creative and to be able to share their work with teachers as well as guardians. Upper level teachers focused on how to best use Google tools with their students. Students will be gaining productivity skills that will empower them throughout their careers. Teachers were also trained on software that will be available in the spring semester — Minecraft Education Edition. They learned not only how to play it, but how it can be used in lessons for student creativity and critical thinking. There are a lot of pre-made lessons for teachers as they start their journey using learning games in the classroom.
